Australia

WOW! I've seen so many movies in my life. I know everything there is to know about them. However, there is rarely a time where I am blown away by every concept of a movie. A good movie has action, suspense, romance, drama, and it adds to the experience when a character has to look inside themselves to examine their problems. Australia had all of these things and it sure came together to make an amazing movie. This is up there with Dark Knight and other great movies of our time. This epic, love story takes place back in1939 during World War II when Japan is preparing to attack the shores of Australia. After finding her husband, the owner of a cattle herding company, murdered, a rich, English woman(Nicole Kidman) meets a cattle herder(Hugh Jackman) who helps her attempt to beat out a rival cattle company in hopes of saving the business. The movie also deals with themes of racism and how people acted toward Aborigines and African Australians even after the Japanese attacked them. The many different kinds of scenery was wonderful to look at. This is one of the best movies I've ever seen. 10 out of 10.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm writing this new update up in Indiana where I'm visiting my family for the week. I hope all of you reading this have a great week and a happy Thanksgiving and, there is lots of news this week starting with the fact that Twilight blew away the box office. One thing I noticed today is that the second time I saw Twilight, there was an awesome Harry Potter 6 trailer in front of it. You can view it at the bottom of the page.

BOX OFFICE
  1. Twilight-$69.7M
  2. Quantum of Solace-$26.7M
  3. Bolt-$26.2M
  4. Madagascar 2-$15.7M
  5. Role Models-$7.3M

-ABC Family is having their annual Harry Potter movie marathon the weekend of December 5th. It will include the first four movies. The fourth will contain deleted scenes not included in the film. Throughout the weekend, there will be behind-the-scenes videos with information about Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. The times of these sneak peaks are not known. The marathon starts with the first movie Friday night, and ends with the fourth Sunday night.

-Whether it's a prequel or sequel, a second I Am Legend more is in the works. Will Smith, the director, and the writer have been signed on for another movie. The first story was that it would be a prequel telling the story about what Will Smith's character went through before New York was wiped out by the deadly virus. Now a site is saying that they are writing a prequel. A believe that's bull because Will Smith's character blew himself up in the end so how could he possibly come back.

-If you saw The Incredible Hulk, you probably remember that the scientist that tried to help Bruce Banner accidently had chemicals dripped in his wound when Abomination destroyed his lab. Now I'm sure you were thinking, why is his head bulging out? The answer to that question has now been confirmed, Tim Nelson, the actor that played the head-bulging scientist, will return to the next movie to play the role of the Leader. Since you probably don't know who that is, the Leader is a very intelligent man who creates weapons and tries to steal the power of the Hulk for his own. Did I mention that his brain get huge increasing the size of his head so it looks like a brain? Well now you know.

Quantom of Solace

For starters, this is the first James Bond Movie I've seen which is why I left the theater saying...HOLY CRAP THAT WAS AWESOME. The most popular spy saga returns to screen with the new Quantum of Solace. Daniel Craig reprises his role as the non-caring, kick-but James Bond. The action sequences in this movie were amazing. From hand-to-hand combat, to car chases, to gun battles, this movie is loaded with all kinds of heart pounding thrills. The stunts and visual effects blew my mind away. I do recommend watching the movie before this one, Casino Royal. I didn't and some of the plot line in this movie confused me. This will appeal to most audiences that are fans of action, suspense, and James Bond in general. The only thing I didn't like was that there was not that much dialogue in the movie at all. Look this one up beforehand for the little ones because in can get a little intense. 9 out of 10.

Twilight

First let me say, going to movies with tons of your friends is such a fun thing to do. It really makes you remember the moment.
Wow. I am glad the winter movie season has begun. Last week I saw James Bond, this week I saw Twilight, and I'll most likely see Bolt and Australia this week as well so more reviews are on the way. For all you guys who think Twilight is a chick flick, you would be surprised by the action and intensity of this film. The acting was great, it stuck to the book for the most part, and the mushy, love kind of stuff you might find all throughout the book, is pretty toned down in the movie. Yes, the cast is pretty much all attractive so they picked the right people to appeal to teenage girls(whoever you like) and guys(Rosalie and Bella.) However, this probably isn't one you seven year old sibling would be seeing. If you want to see a action/romance movie, this is defiantly the one to pick. 7 out of 10.

The Week of November 7th

-Sorry I didn't to a post last week but I was swamped with other things to do. For those of you who want to know, High School Musical Three won the box office two weeks in a row. It has made about 55 million dollars this past week. It also has beaten Saw 5 and Zack and Miri(which is a stupid movie.) I do have some advice...yes I did see High School Musical, yes I did sit through all the short songs, yes I did watch Troy and Gabriella almost break up again, and YES I DID see Zac Effron take off his shirt!!! Now even though this sounds amazing...the movie sucked. I can take the upbeat songs in fact some of them weren't that bad, but it was the slow songs that killed the movie for me. It had the same story line as all the others. COME ON can't you get a little creative. Oh well...don't see it.
-TWILIGHT!! EDWARD!! TWILIGHT MOVIE!! OMG!!! For you die hard Twilight fans I have some news for you. Just in case you were interested, tickets are now on sale for the upcoming movie and they already make up almost half the ticket sales each week. Fifteen minutes of the movie was shown in Rome last week and you can see eight minutes of it on YouTube(I don't recommend it the quality stinks.) If you want to look at pictures you can go to rottentomatoes.com where you can find 90+ pics.
